The woman on the left, wearing a patterned black and beige dress with a ceremonial gold chain around her neck, is holding a green reusable bottle. The woman in the centre, wearing a grey T-shirt, is using the water station to refill a bottle. The woman on the right, dressed in a white T-shirt with the text “Plastic Free Thatcham” and “Surfers Against Sewage” printed on it, stands smiling beside them. The background shows a brick wall with a sign indicating free water refills.

Eco Friends West Berkshire said “Eco Friends are so pleased that a new drinking fountain will be installed in the Broadway.  The UK uses a staggering 38.5 million single-use plastic bottles every day, of which around half end up in landfill, being burnt or in the environment* (Source: Surfers Against Sewage). This installation will actively reduce this volume, making Thatcham a greener place to live.”
