Community Awards 2025 – Winners Announced

The winners have been announced of the Thatcham Town Council Community Awards 2025.

The Thatcham Community Awards Panel met on the 1st of April 2025 to discuss the nominations received and are absolutely delighted to announce the winners of this year’s Community Awards scheme.

Community Contributor Award:

The Therapy Garden Group at WBCH (group)

The Therapy Gardening Group was selected as winner for the group/organisation category for their wonderful gardening work at West Berkshire Community Hospital and beyond, over the last 11 years.

Helen Randall (individual)

Helen Randall was selected as the individual winner for her 10 years of service with children’s disability charity PALS, and for her dedication to guides and volunteer work beyond her duties.

Environmental Champion Award

Charmaine Buckley

Charmaine Buckley from Factors salon was unanimously selected as Environmental Champion. The committee praised her zero waste policy and recycling of hair clippings.

Volunteer Champion Award

Mo Rice

Mo Rice was chosen as Volunteer Champion as the longest-serving RSPCA charity shop volunteer in the district with 14 years of service under her belt.

Lifetime Achievement Award

Sue Dobinson

Sue Dobinson was selected for the Lifetime Achievement Award for her 40 years of volunteering with Girl Guiding.

Inspiring Young Person Award

Georgia Tully

Georgia Tully was presented the award for Inspiring Young Person for her work raising funds for Bliss, a charity for babies born premature or sick.

 

Congratulations to all of the winners and thank you to those that submitted nominations. Nominations for next year will be accepted from January 2026. More details to come!
