Planning & Highways Committee – 13th January 2026
The committee will consider a number of local planning applications, where comments have been received or a councillor has requested discussion. These include:
-
A planning application at 29 Roman Way relating to the change of use of a property from a single dwelling to an 8-bedroom house in multiple occupation (HMO).
-
Householder applications for a garden room at 118 Sagecroft Road, a single-storey rear extension at 20 Druce Way, and a retrospective garden pavilion at 59 Westfield Road.
Councillors will note recent planning decisions made by West Berkshire Council since the last meeting.
There will be an update on the West Berkshire Local Plan Review, including discussion on the lack of visible progress on the Masterplan and whether a formal letter of concern should be sent to West Berkshire Council.
The committee will also consider responding to a statutory consultation on proposed 20mph speed limits in Hermitage, Cold Ash and Bucklebury, including whether to request the addition of a 20mph limit on Lawrences Lane.
Finally, councillors will receive any new planning matters and discuss traffic management, highways and road safety issues, including a consultation on designating certain streets as traffic-sensitive and any recent concerns raised by residents.
