Thatcham History Trail
The history of Thatcham is important to us. To encourage people to venture out and explore their local history the Thatcham Town Council Heritage Working Party, working with members of Thatcham Historical Society, created a history trail. The trail is aimed at being an interactive way of connecting with local history and encourages people to get out and explore. There are a series of panels around the town centre each with a QR code. The idea is that you scan the QR code with the camera app on your smartphone, this then takes you to a webpage which gives you a photograph and historical information on the location. For those without smartphones leaflets with the same information can be collected from Thatcham Council Offices and Thatcham Library. At present there is one trail, the town centre. This is an accessible route. More routes are planned to be added.
