A construction site in a grassy area shows a small yellow excavator digging soil for a new memorial space. The ground has been cleared and leveled, forming a curved shape. A worker in a high-visibility jacket stands nearby. Orange safety netting and blue barriers surround the site, and a wooden bench sits beneath a large tree.

Thatcham Town Council are delighted to announce that work has now begun on the much-anticipated Memorial Garden in the baby section of London Road Cemetery, Thatcham.

The Memorial Garden has been designed to offer a peaceful sanctuary, featuring thoughtfully arranged landscaping, seating areas, and meaningful tributes. It will serve as a place of reflection for parents and loved ones who have experienced the loss of a child.

This project has been made possible thanks to the dedication and support of local organisations, including The Greenham Trust, The Forget Me Not Fund and Sands West Berkshire.

The construction phase is now underway, with completion expected by the end of March.
