Thatcham Chinese (Lunar) New Year Celebration Market – A Fantastic First!

Thousands of people flocked to Thatcham the Broadway on Sunday 2nd February for our first themed market.

Published: 10 February 2025

This image shows a vibrant lion dance costume, often used in traditional Chinese celebrations, particularly during Lunar New Year. The costume features intricate details, including colourful patterns, fur trims, and reflective materials. The lion’s head is adorned with bold colours such as red, green, blue, and gold, with prominent eyes and a wide, smiling mouth.

From the thrilling lion dance performances to the vibrant stalls showcasing delicious food, beautiful crafts, and unique gifts, the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement. Families enjoyed face painting, and the community came together to celebrate culture, tradition, and togetherness.

A massive thank you to our vendors, performers, and, of course, everyone who came along to celebrate with us. Your enthusiasm and energy made this event unforgettable!

We can’t wait to make it even bigger and better next year – see you in 2026!
