On Tuesday 28th May 2024, exactly 50 years after creation of Thatcham Town Council, following the Local Government Act 1972, Thatcham Town Council and Thatcham Mayor Councillor Suzanne Adamantos invited all surviving Mayors of Thatcham to gather together to celebrate the anniversary.
As part of Dementia Action Week, Thatcham Town Council hosted a free Garden Party on Friday, May 17th in the Jubilee Sensory Garden on Brownsfield Road. The Garden Party aimed to support and raise awareness for individuals and families affected by dementia.
On Sunday 12th May, Councillor Suzanne Adamantos was elected Mayor of Thatcham at a ceremony at Frank Hutchings Community Hall.

Thatcham-based individuals, community groups, charities and arts and leisure organisations are invited to apply with either one-off or a series of events to make Thatcham Festival 2024 an unforgettable celebration of Thatcham’s creative innovation, learning, and community spirit.
Thatcham Town Council is currently fundraising to develop an area of London Road Cemetery, Thatcham to create a calm reflection garden within the Cemetery’s children’s burial area, for quiet contemplation.
