This year, Thatcham Town Council are inviting the community to join in a heartfelt tribute to honour those who served and sacrificed. Thatcham Town Council is encouraging residents to adorn their local benches, trees, and other public spaces with vibrant knitted or crocheted poppies, creating a town-wide display of remembrance alongside the Town Council display in the Broadway.
Individuals, groups, and clubs are welcome to collaborate on larger displays or contribute individual poppies. Donations of individual poppies should be dropped off at the council offices by Friday 1st November.
The Town Council are also hosting Poppy Workshop sessions in the Town Council Chamber, where residents can gather to enjoy tea or coffee while working together to combine poppies into beautiful displays for the town.
