As part of Dementia Action Week, Thatcham Town Council hosted a free Garden Party on Friday, May 17th in the Jubilee Sensory Garden on Brownsfield Road. The Garden Party aimed to support and raise awareness for individuals and families affected by dementia. Guests enjoyed live music from Sion Wiley who played acoustic songs from across the decades, and contributed to a collaborative piece of doodle-artwork curated by Magpie and The Mob’s Libby Witney.
Regular Sensory Garden expert Sally Mitchell was on hand with hints and tips, and Jane Fletcher gave an interesting talk about how to record a life’s worth of memories with loved ones.
There are free-to-attend coffee mornings held in the Jubilee Sensory Garden held on the last Thursday of each month, with a variety of activities to do each month.
