Crochet Community Initiative to ‘Paint the Town Blue’ for Dementia Action Week

Thatcham residents are being invited to pick up their crochet hooks and take part in a unique community project for Dementia Action Week this May.

Thatcham residents are being invited to pick up their crochet hooks and take part in a unique community project for Dementia Action Week 19th – 23rd May.

Inspired by the iconic Remembrance poppies, this initiative will see handmade Forget-me-nots—the official flower of Dementia Action Week—decorating the Broadway trees in support of the Paint the Town Blue campaign, led by Dementia Friendly West Berkshire.

Thatcham Town Council are encouraging people to crochet Forget-me-nots, which will be  displayed throughout the week.  A crochet pattern is available for those who need one, and completed flowers can be dropped off at a designated collection box at the Thatcham Town Council offices on Brownsfield Road.

Please hand in all crotched forget-me-nots by Monday 12th May.
