Information about support and advice on Dementia in Thatcham and West Berkshire
Dementia Action Week
Thatcham Town Council, in partnership with Dementia Friendly West Berkshire and Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Action Week, are working to raise awareness and provide support for those in our community living with Dementia and their families.
The Town Council are inviting Thatcham-based businesses to participate in this initiative through:
- Free Dementia Friends Information Sessions to help front-line customer service staff better understand and support individuals affected by dementia.
- Painting the Town Blue during Dementia Action Week by decorating shop windows to show solidarity and help raise awareness.
- Attend the Dementia Action Week Fundraising Party in Jubilee Sensory Garden on Friday 23rd May 2025, from 10am – 1pm. There will be entertainment and refreshments available, raising money for local dementia organisations.
- Displaying Information Packs supplied by Dementia Friends West Berkshire supply for the public to collect.
- Become a Sponsor of Dementia Action Week Thatcham for as little as £50
